A Perfect Day

OkittywebSunday May 17th was one of the most perfect days I have ever experienced. There was nothing extraordinary about the day really. It wasn't my birthday, I didn't win an award and wasn't surrounded by adoring fans nor did I win a trip around the world or the draw the winning lotto ticket.
What I do remember is that I woke up in a content mood and did a few household chores, painted my cat blue, worked a little in my office and went dancing for a while at my favorite club. I topped of the day with a quiet dinner cooked by my sweetheart and a long, warm bubble bath just before bed.
I talked to a six year cancer survivor at the club and told her I just celebrated five years since my diagnosis.
I figured out why the day was perfect, or any day for that matter.
Like my friend at the club, I will continue to celebrate everyday here on this earth as if it is the most perfect day ever.
If I find myself lacking in gratitude for any reason, I will look back on that day and remember how far I have come.
