Beauty and Grace

While waiting for a flight in the Raleigh airport, I met an amazing woman. I noticed she was carrying a thin black portfolio so I asked her if she was an artist. With a smile, she said no, but would like to be someday. The case contained films from a recent MRI and she was on her way to see a specialist in New York. She told me that she was a brain tumor patient and had been for eighteen years. We had something in common, and before our flights were called, we understood each other completely.
I don’t know her name, but I will never forget her kind eyes, her long braided silver hair, her beauty and her grace.

Oh Karen, I’m so glad I waited patiently for you to finish the story – that’s so beautiful. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people cross our paths however briefly, and touch our lives in ways we cannot imagine.
    hugs,
    Ron
