You’re probably familiar with the following quote, it’s been around for a while, but I think it fits here:

Hope this comes out as I intend. When my own dad died in ’94 I wrote before, during and after as a way of getting through it.
A few months later my writing revealed a paradox: that the way I lived my life really mattered and that, in the scheme of things, it really didn’t matter. I found comfort somewhere in between and began to take myself less seriously.
