Uncertainty

Today we celebrate the Fourth of July with our barbeques, parties and picnics. I am preparing a fruit plate for the party my family and I will attend at our friends house tonight and I am thinking of what is happening in the world in general. It is a scary time and our future is uncertain. I find it difficult to read the newspaper anymore, let alone watch cable news.
But today, we in our neighborhoods are preparing for tonights festivities. People are putting their flags on display and mowing their lawns. A darker and thicker than usual cloud cover looms overhead and may not clear for the annual fireworks show tonight. Sometimes, the clouds will clear and sometimes not. It’s uncertain that we will get to see fireworks at all.
