The Journey

On Monday, June 21st, I am going to be getting a second surgery to remove about a dozen more lymph nodes under my arm. The surgeon told me he would try to preserve the nerve between the chest and arm so that I can have as much full use of my left arm as possible. I told him that because I am an artist, there is no choice but to make sure my left arm is fully functional!
I see my Oncologist this Friday to plan for chemotherapy and any other treatment she may suggest. Boy, do I have a long list of questions to ask her about what I might be looking forward to in the next few months.
I am preparing myself for the rough waters ahead, but I as I embark on this difficult journey I know that I will find the shore and will be able to put my bare feet in the warm sand and dance until dawn.
