Finding Peace

When my heart becomes heavy, or my mind confused, I drive to a special little spot along a two mile long strip on a rocky California beach. On stormy days, I feel the power of the crashing waves against the rocks. On calm days, I can feel the warm sun on my face, see the water rolling onto the sand and hear the birds flying through the sky. This is where I give my troubles to the islands in the distance, where I put things in perspective, where I am able forgive myself as well as others. This is the place where I clear my mind and heart. This is where I find peace, even for a moment.
